Jane Shealy is a writer turned editor who believes that writers who publish do one thing differently than those who do not. They finish. They finish the paper, the article, the novel. So, one of the most important things she does as an editor is to make sure writers stay on track, meet deadlines and complete their work. Her experience as a writer makes her particularly empathetic to the process. She worked with the same editor for more than 20 years. Her intent is to re-create that relationship, to improve an author's work without compromising his or her voice. Her special joy is working with non-native English speakers, especially those attempting to publish in peer-reviewed publications.
